The promoters of the idea, men closely involved in the energy sector, believe that the cement city has many advantages that would make it a good place for a nuclear plant.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"navigatable tag0\">Fermi<\/span>\u00a0The leaders of Energia O\u00dc, the former leader of Eesti Energia Sandor Liivet and the former head of the geological service Kalev Kallemetsa have been seen often in Viru-Nigula municipality lately. At the end of November, they presented the idea of a nuclear power plant to the local parish council, and a week ago they took part in the parish's public meetings. Reason:\u00a0<span class=\"navigatable tag0\">Fermi<\/span>\u00a0Energia O\u00dc wants to build a small modular reactor.<\/p>\n<p>\"The plan is to carry out preliminary studies with partners on the best location,\" said.\u00a0<span class=\"navigatable tag0\">Fermi<\/span>\u00a0Kalev Kallemets, member of the board of Energia O\u00dc. One strong candidate among the five is the oldest part of Kunda, the seaside district of Lontova.<\/p>\n<p>Kallemets said that Kunda has several large industrial companies, as well as being close to the port and the sea. \"There are no nature conservation restrictions and no dangerous objects.
