The preferred forms of energy continue to be all of the following <span lang=\"ET\">carbon meta<\/span> types - wind (56%), new generation nuclear (52%) and solar (50%).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9455 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-2048x1152.png 2048w, https:\/\/fermi.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/elektri-tootmise-liigi-arendamise-pooldamine-18x10.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main advantages of developing a nuclear power plant in Estonia are considered to be the security of electricity supply in all weather conditions (58%) and cheaper electricity prices (51%), while the main disadvantages are the storage of nuclear waste (63%) and the risk of accidents (47%).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A significantly higher percentage of support for nuclear energy is among men (81%), while women's support has always been more modest, and this is also the case this time (54%). However, women's support is also clearly increasing in the long term.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among age groups, the strongest supporters are both the youngest (15-34 years, 68%) and the oldest (65-84 years, 74%). As expected, taking into account previous surveys, the share of supporters of the plant is higher among respondents with higher education. While 64% of those with up to secondary education support the consideration of a nuclear power plant, 71% of those with higher education do so.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of party preference, supporters of all parties are (more) in favour of considering a nuclear power plant.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9456 size-large\"
