Representatives of the Canadian nuclear industry visited Estonian companies

Fermi Energy and Estonian construction and industrial companies were visited by representatives of the Canadian nuclear industry from Canada's largest construction companies. SNC Lavalin and Aecon representatives with a view to finding partners both for the construction of a small reactor in Estonia and for the production and subcontracting of components for other new nuclear power plants planned in Europe.

Aecon and SNC Lavalin have strong and long-standing nuclear experience in the design and construction of the Canadian CANDU reactors as well as a growing experience in the design and construction of the first BWRX-300 reactor in Darlington, Ontario. The same experience would also be used to build a small reactor in Estonia. Among the Estonian companies present at the meetings, in addition to Fermi Energia, were BLRT Group, Maru Ehitus, Merko Ehitus and Sweco.
