This week, we were delighted to host good cooperation partners from South Korea in Estonia – the delegation included representatives from the Korean government, KINDa (Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation), and our construction partner Samsung C&T.
During the week, we introduced the Fermi Energia project, visited potential future nuclear power plant locations, and met with Estonian companies and government institutions with whom close cooperation may develop in the future construction of a nuclear power plant. Among others, Norte, Eesti Energia, the Ministry of Climate, and Deloitte participated in the discussions.
The meetings focused on gaining a better understanding of the project and its cooperation partners, as well as preparing for the next stages. The KINDi support programme helps to strengthen Estonian and Korean cooperation and lays good groundwork for both Korean national funding mechanisms and Korean companies to contribute as the project progresses.
Such meetings are important because the success of a major infrastructure project is born through long-term cooperation, shared learning, and mutual trust. We thank all partners for the fruitful discussions and look forward to continuing our cooperation!
