71% of Estonians support the continuation of preparations for the construction of a new generation of nuclear power plants

A survey conducted by Kantar Emor in January shows that 71% of respondents support or rather support the continuation of preparations for the construction of a new generation nuclear power plant. Compared to the previous survey in April 2025, support for the deployment of nuclear power has increased and is now at its highest level over the survey period since 2019. At the same time, the share of those opposed to nuclear power has continued its downward trend. According to the latest survey, 17% of respondents oppose nuclear power development, with almost equal numbers of 'firm' (8%) and 'somewhat' (9%) opponents. 12% of respondents could not take a clear position.
