Small but mighty! Fermi Third Annual Conference | Gallery

On 8 February, the Fermi Energy New Generation Nuclear Energy Conference "Small but Powerful" took place at the cruise terminal, with around 120 participants on site and 650 people following the event online. The conference presented the research carried out during the year on the deployment of nuclear energy in Estonia.

The conference was opened by Estonian Environment Minister Erki Savisaar, Sama Bilbao y Leon, Director General of the World Nuclear Association, and Denis Dumont, Head of Nuclear Energy at Belgian energy company Tractebel.

The conference focused on issues related to the development of a new generation of small reactors - including in Estonia, Europe and the world at large. In the most relevant presentations in the Estonian context, Fermi Energia's partners' 2021 studies and the work of the government's Nuclear Energy Working Group were presented. Models of small reactors and reprocessed nuclear fuel were also on display at the conference. On site, guests had the unique opportunity to take a virtual tour of the new generation plant and reactor.
